What is your assignment?
In this role you are responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the supply chain organization at the Botlek site to ensure that the site objectives (reducing costs, improving working capital performance and unlocking productivity) are met. Accountabilities of the Supply Chain Manager include developing and implementing department strategy and goals, driving cost and working capital improvement, assuring supply of indirect materials and services, contract management, supplier performance and relationships and Sox compliance to assure the site business objectives are safely met.
How do you achieve this?
The Supply Chain Manager has 8 direct reports; one Raw Materials Planner, one Production Support Coordinator, one Repairs Coordinator, one Senior Purchaser, three Purchasers and one Purchasing Assistant. The Supply Chain Manager reports to the VP & Chief Procurement Officer (United States). Accountabilities of the Supply Chain Manager include developing and implementing department strategy and goals, driving cost and working capital improvement, assuring supply of indirect materials and services, contract management, supplier performance and relationships and Sox compliance to assure the site business objectives are safely met. As Manager Supply Chain you must be able to lead and manage purchase professionals, warehouse and repair personnel, suppliers, contractor organizations and contract employees. This position serves as a member of the Site Leadership Team and has an active role in developing and executing Site Objectives. You are responsible for change management within your department: continuously improving business performance, organizational systems, and relationships with other departments and within the Supply Chain teams. Finally, the Supply Chain Manager is the key Botlek plant interface with the global supply chain and procurement teams and therefore possessing the ability to articulate facts, opinions and feedback are critical success factors for the role.
What will you bring to the table?
- Minimum technical or business bachelor’s degree, advanced vocational/academic level of thinking
- 8 years of supply chain and procurement management experience
- Previous chemical industry manufacturing experience is a preference
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, fluent in Dutch and English
- Excellent human relations skills
- Self starter who demonstrates an intense desire to learn new things
- Takes ownership of situations, demonstrates decisiveness and timeliness in decision making
- Experience in leading/managing supply chain team: creates a positive environment for teams to work and operate
- Develops, maintains and strengthens partnerships
